George Letscher joined the Office of Technology Commercialization in January of 2008 as a licensing associate. He is responsible for the marketing, licensing and patenting of the University of Maryland's physical and information science technology cases. Prior to being added to the OTC staff, George worked as a Primary Patent Examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in the area of dynamic magnetic and optical information storage and retrieval. He then proceeded to work as a Registered Patent Agent at law firms in Washington, D.C., prosecuting patent applications for various electrical and optical devices. George received bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Manhattan College. Before entering the intellectual property field, George worked in New York City as a design and project engineer for the DDG-51 Arleigh Burke class destroyer program. |
